Found for sale on
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
classifieds, for your scrutiny, a 1990 Chevy Beretta pace car edition with a scant 21 miles.
Count me among the Gen X-ers that would gravitate towards this at a car show and time warp back to high school looking at the serrated plastic shifter track
and the directional levers for seat adjustment.
And I’ve always been a sucker for a digital dash
This example has obviously been hermetically sealed since new,
and is now ready for its coming out party in 2020.
Except.....
well, this is awkward to say, but the asking price is a, ahem, rather ambitous, um, I’m not sure this is going to well, *cough*, no shame in asking, right?
!!! UNKNOWN HEADER TYPE (MULTI-LINE BREAK?) !!!
(Cue the expletives, laughs, vomiting).
Go back to whence you came little banana. Your time has not yet come...

I love it, but the price is questionable even at 10% of asking price. But I'd love to own a clean Beretta someday.

The only thing that makes this a CP is the auto.

How many miatas will that buy? For what reason do they think the beretta is collectable?
Can get a well optioned caterham 7 for that

I’ve always liked the Beretta , and I can see their prices climbing some, for really good examples, due to the Radwood effect, but this is ridiculous price.

$46k for a 1990's shit box? Oh hell no. A Porsche 964 , a 300zx TT, a FD RX7, Supra, Corvette ZR-1 those are cars that are worth the coin.

I am totally down with this, but the price is insane.

A couple of friends in high school had Berettas, it was one of the worst driving experiences I can recall. Mushy suspension, vague steering, torque steer, and a terrible seating position. They made my Volvo 940 Turbo seem like a sports sedan in comparison.

This is a classic example of a bad investment. Imagine being the sucker that bought a Be ret ta, and kept in hermetically sealed ... AS AN INVESTMENT!
I think the thing is really cool, and it’s worth about 10 of the asking price.

Huh, my ma owned one of those a few years back. Had like 92k miles and was mint inside and out. Pretty sure she struggled to sell it for $1800.
Knock a zero off their price and it could be considered, even then, at 21 miles, it’s just a collector piece.

They must have all been basic ones. The GT/GTU/GTZ were tight, responsive, and supportive to drive. Sure they had some torque steer but nothing obnoxious.

It was a GT, made me never want to drive one again.

Weird. We’ve had plenty in my family ( my Ma gets on a kick with a vehicle and goes through like 15 of the same car before moving to something else ), I found them to be pretty decent cars to drive. I mean they’re no sports car, but they’re firmly respectable for econo coupes.

Even at 21 miles, I hesitate to refer to it as “collector”. Thats like saying a Bic pen from 1993 thats never been used is worth $300, but it is just a pen.
